Frequently asked questions
Price, floors,
invoice
Six questions about piano transport costs that come up before almost every booking. If yours is not there, ask us directly.
Is the calculated price binding?
It is a reliable estimate based on your details, calculated with the same rates as the written offer. It becomes binding as soon as we have confirmed your enquiry.
How are the kilometres calculated?
The first 30 kilometres are included in the price. Above that, the whole distance counts at 1,20 € per kilometre. The return trip is added only from 100 kilometres, at 0,60 € per kilometre. Within Vienna and within the same town no kilometre charge applies.
What does a floor cost, what does a spiral staircase cost?
For a piano the first floor is included in the price. From the second, every floor costs 36 € up a straight staircase and 60 € up a spiral staircase. For a grand piano it is 60 € and 100 €, for a digital piano 30 € per floor. The floors of both addresses are added together; a lift counts as ground floor.
Do steps in front of the building and a raised ground floor count as well?
Yes, per address separately and at 36 € each. A raised ground floor is the half floor between the ground floor and the first floor; it is counted independently of the number of floors.
How quickly do I get an appointment?
Appointments are from Monday to Friday. If it has to be within four working days, we calculate express service at plus 30 percent on the whole invoice.
Is my instrument insured during the transport?
Please do ask us about it. We check what insurance cover is possible for your instrument. For pianos there is liability cover up to 5.000 €. For grand pianos there is no comparable product on the market, and what that means in your case we discuss openly with you.
Reading piano transport costs by distance
Every page carries its own calculated case
At a glance
What the calculator can do, and what it needs
It calculates the piano transport costs with the same rates as our written offer: base price by instrument, floors at both addresses, distance. Nothing is added on top afterwards.
It needs both addresses from the suggestion list, the floor for each address and whether a lift is available. If one of these is missing, the total stays open — then a call is quicker.
